Looking for a new bow

Hello, I’ve been shooting an Excalibur Matrix 380 for years. It’s been reliable and has taken multiple animals, both from blinds and while stalking.
That said, the width of the 380 has become a challenge. In blinds (where I’m usually set about 40 yards from water), maneuvering is tight, and when I’m stalking in the West, I need something more compact and easier to carry. Shot distances vary, blinds average around 40 yards, but when stalking, I often face shots anywhere from 40 to 80 yards.
I’m looking for recommendations on crossbows that:
They are narrower than the Matrix 380, making them easier to use inside a blind.
Still performs reliably for longer shots in open country (40–80 yards).
They are manageable to carry and handle while stalking.
If you’ve found a bow that checks these boxes, I’d really appreciate hearing what worked for you, especially real-world hunting experience, not just specs.

The bow that immediately came to mind after reading your post was the Ravin R29X. It's extremely maneuverable and really the only bow I've had experience with that wouldn't struggle when taking the longer shots. I'm sure theres other bows out there that fit the bill but this is one I wouldn't be afraid to take a long shot with.

First 16 years I used a Excaliber shot a lot of deer and its a very good reliable bow. This year I broke the bank and picked up a Ravin 29x. I just cannot believe the diffrence ! Been out to the Gun Club because its the only place I can strech it out. Been shooting out to 60 yards and I only shoot one arrow to a bullseye. Just amazing how good it shoots.

Now when it gets cold no problem sitting in one of the towers to hunt.

This one is easy i also used a Matrix 380 a good bit for a few years. I replaced it with a Mission MXB 400 (discontinued) I'm replacing the MXB400's one is 10 years old one is 11 years old still going strong but i just wanted a new bow :). I'm supposed to pick up a Mission Sub1 this week. I'm a blind hunter 100% of the time and have been even back to my Excalibur days off and on using the excals.

Mission bows have just as good of a warranty maybe not as easy as emailing in a pic like excal. But they get fixed for life.
Mission bows are easier to cock and let down without shooting narrower days quieter every bit as accurate as any bow. As to speed if you can make the shot with the matrix 380 the Sub1 will also The Sub1 XR is 25 fps faster.

Like your 380 no need for a press for anything or running back to the bow shop. Compared to what i read at least my 400's have had insanely long string life.

I don't stand to make a dime or get any perks. Just saying check them out :).

My choices for that style of hunting (same as my hunting), compact and maneuverable but light enough to carry up mountains:

Expensive: ravin 29x or tenpoint TX 440
Mid range: tenpoint Venom X or Turbo X
Budget Barnet XP series

Another great option, and what I have, is the Killer Instinct Swat X1 but its out of production and only available used.

Go with the R29X- you'll never look back!
Cabela's just had a great sale on them, but keep your eye's peeled- there will be more sales coming up. You can also find some good deals on Ebay but be careful buying on there. There's good and not so good sellers.
