It arrived today, good thing too, aside from the blistering wind, it was only -2°C. So I didn't even need my hoodie. Huge shout out to Big Tom for standing still for so long.

To start off, the fit and finish on this bow is excellent. Since it literally uses one screw to assemble I didn't tear anything down to inspect. The riser/mainframe joint is tight! Definitely a snug fit compared to my Axe. The riser and Mainframe are satin black anodized, which is great. I'm very happy to see that.Durability is key here.

As most know, I'm a huge fan of the Extreme style riser, it's been my wish for years to do away with as much hardware as require and it's benefits pay off. Contrary to popular believe, the Mag riser and the Gen3 micro riser weighed in nearly identical, but this style riser pushed the weight out to the end so it balances sweet. One day if I strip this riser down I'll weight it. But right now I have no need or intention to do so.

This bow balances nicely, it's comfortable, and feels far more compact than it is. It's predecessor the Mag340 had a near perfect balance, that felt weightless in the hand, this bow is the same, if not possibly better. I don't have a factory Mag340 here to compare to, but aside from being a hair shorter, I think it's gonna be just as well received.

It's a nice touch this bow comes with some bolt ones that entry level bows didn't have before, namely a rubberized stirrup(but not hold down spring), REDS, and the ceasefire trigger. Complaints about the ceasefire should all be a thing of the past with the new cocking rope tho.

Instead of my going though the same details, feel free to ask away for any specific pics or details you'd like to see.

You can also see some pics side by side with the RevX, 308 Short mag, and a 420assassin I just took in on trade.

Quick follow up, as it's been mentioned recently. This bow has been thread locked. As was my 24 308ShortMag, which I was handling last night as well.

I'll continue to update as I get familiar and shoot this beauty. I may work up the nuts to drive to the cottage and get my Garmin Chrony as I hear these MagMax's are running a bit hot.

Those Garmin's are so small, why not just keep it in your wallet? 🙃

Very tempting. A few weeks ago when I joined this site I had no interest in purchasing a new bow...now I’m pretty interested in the Mag Max as a primary hunting bow.

Sorry if I missed this in a previous post, but how is it to rope cock? I had a mag340 previously which I eventually sold because it bunged my back up after longer shooting sessions (20-25 plus shots). For pulling a couple times In a hunting scenario, it really wasn’t any problem though…. I know the magmax will be a bit stiffer but curious on hearing some feedback.

I'm going to try and put the magmax, the 340, and the 308 back-to-back tonight.
I will qualify, that I don't think I'm a very good judge of this test, as I don't typically have a problem cocking bows And this is a very subjective test

I didn't get to it last night, as I will have to put my 340 back together first.

I had a chance to fire one single shot in complete factory form this evening, the MagMax did exactly 350FPS.(Well 349.9).
Keeping in mind, it's wearing the rubbers and string stars from factory.

So it's safe to say, if you pull the protective gear and put it in sport mode, she's hitting 357-358. Which is the sweet spot.

Unfortunately, my Garmin timed out before I saved the shot info or I'd post it.
Saturday I'm home all day, I'll run it in a few configs and get some numbers for you guys.
