So there are definitely deals to be had on the Nitro 505.

I would like to hear from current and former owners.

Do you love it?

Was it not for you?

Did you find it reliable?

Seems like companies are backing away from the speed game.

Really just looking for the been there done that knowledge that I know the nation has in spades. â™

You are one hundred percent right, killer deal. My fault Bud, You were post number 2. You certainly got a great deal. Those superfast bows just scare me a bit. That was why I asked. Almost too good of a deal to pass up, if you have the stones to do it. I don't have the stones. I have a bid going on Ebay for a second Xbow, so we will see how that goes.

I have had that thing in my shopping cart like 5 times:ROFLMAO:

Yeah, That' s why I was inquiring. It is a heck of a deal from what they were going for new. I am going to hold off based on the above feedback and the fact that it does not quite check my boxes. I like bomb proof, lifetime warranty, over built, good string life, etc. But dang that is a deal? You go and buy one yet Sal?

One eye brings up what my primary concern would be. Too much horsepower. I have a couple of spider web targets, so that would not be an issue.

String wear, maintenance issues, any limb issues etc?

Bolts/arrows and strings and servings have not caught up to the super hot bows? That seems to be the narrative according to the most knowledgeable amongst the “Nation.”

Am I wrong? It’s a great deal right now but 16 hundred bucks is still real money!

Two seasons in and multiple deer and an antelope, I’m happy. I mounted an Oracle X. More than accurate enough for my 40+- yards. Accuracy is required for hunting. My 505 has it. It also has speed and all other things being equal, speed wins.
Takes a tough target. You may loose some arrows on pass thru’s. Love the crank and de-cock. Very happy to own and it’s going nowhere.

Really liked my 505 for balance, feel and the ability to have one aim point out to 50 yards. Didn't like all the horsepower that came with the ability to shoot that far with one dot. My Kinetic 650 target had issues stopping arrows at 50 yards lol. I ruined a lot of vanes and got tired of it. More power than I needed/wanted. It was a shooter though!

Bookmarking this thread for answers as I've only put one arrow through my Nitro 505. First impression is nice trigger, well balanced, noticeably lighter than my old crossbow. Only one shot because I'm lucky the arrow didn't go right through the target and strip off the fletching. My new target arrived but I haven't shot it again yet. It's my first crossbow with a crank system and that is a great feature.

Cons so far: The factory scope needed to be turned up to about 7.5X for the reticle to be correct for 500 fps. I replaced that scope with a Huskemaw which I think is much better. It is kinda loud and I since put on the silencers sold by Tenpoint, made by Bowjax, but I doubt they'll do much. I guess that is to be expected with that much speed from a crossbow.

No regrets, it was a great deal. People were and still are selling used ones for what I paid new. Would I have opted for a more midrange Tenpoint if I had the chance to hold and shoot them all? Maybe. I suspect that's what many will recommend.
