George, look forward to your next steps and wow that's expanding the build process metrics to another level. Outstanding!!!!

General observation with string build.

Haha, after all that rope cocking the ole farm deer needs to fuel up.

Rest up George and continue to put the pedal to the metal!!!:p:cool:

Alright George, Let's get update on how the Hyper Raptor shoots. How did the cables hold up? Rope cocking cycle. Accuracy? Scope? TriggerTech™? Time to spill the beans. How does this Xbow rate with many of the other Xbows you have shot?

Late edit: I know it's for first day with many more experiences to come.

how much does a hyper flighr arrow weigh...?

If this bow could hit about 415 witha 400 grainer ita in the zone...i.m.o.

My arrow builds run about 420 to 430 grains for a bow like this.

it sure looks nice.
I'm buying a Hyper Raptor RCD and have a chrono. I'm betting 395-410 fps with a .344 OD arrow @ 400 grains. Unfortunately, RCD is backorder. In time I'll have one soon. Anyone know where I can buy send me a PM.

Shoot on!

Sounds like my SIL mighta bought a great crossbow. I'll let him know about really lubing up those cables and string.
And the cam spindle where the cables wrap around when cocked. Critical!!! Farm Deer can correct if I'm wrong.

Now this is funny......
I decided to mount a speed rated scope before the ATN for the reason not everyone needs or maybe cannot afford a $900.00 optic. Although the stock scope is crystal clear I wanted to setup a speed scope and test prior to the ATN. I have qualified the speed scope with my ATN to be within +-2 FPS at all ranges.

Yes I read the articles of much higher FPS but figured that was a hot bow supplied! Right? No, Wrong!!!! Here's where things get a bit funny.
Set the speed ring to 400 FPS (knowing past history that bows are over rated). I zeroed at 20 yards, dead BE. Being a bit cocky I moved back to 80 (which I shoot all the time). Verified range, safety off, squeezed the trigger as I watched through the scope the arrow went over the top right aim point, missing the target high and into the corn field 30 or so yards!:mad::mad::mad:
Photo evidence of my arrogance below:

I killed a damn corn stalk, dead center.
I rethought what others shared regarding the article mentioning higher FPS performance. I made several adjustments to the speed dial and after several shots at 60 I stepped again back to 80.

Here is at 60 with the speed dial set at 420

At 80

The bow is just a bit hot. Lessons learned. ATN next.

George, great story and funny read. Let's get to it. You have a MSRP $600 xbow hitting dots at 80 yards with stock arrows non indexed. That's a testament to how often I chase my own tail getting into the weeds optimizing even going down the rabbit hole in search for the holy grail. Don't get me wrong customizing is fun but is not always mandatory for 20-40 yard endeavors. Hell, George knows his craft but he also is showing us that many OEM's build more than meets the needs for beginners to highly experienced hunters/range shooters. This post is like a dose of smelling salts to wake me up and not discount what many OEM's provide with their stock setup. Note: I've always been impressed with Barnett Head Hunter arrows. I'm sure this applies to many other OEM's too. To be fair George is an elite marksman with vast shooting experience but the stock OEM is meeting his shooting requirements. Haha, corn field humility for even the Farm Deer. That's keeping it real. :p:D:cool:

Shoot on!

Wowza, putting a tank on the scope rail are ya. It be nice to have one in my blind at night to dust off some fat xxx raccoons! However, since I put up a varmint cage around my motorized feeder not a single raccoon has climbed up the legs over the last 4 weeks. They know what's up.

Seriously, that is legit hardware George.

After viewing all the cable/string pics it seems to me you have solved lots of concerns that's more related to user operation vs functional design. Note: Barnett needs to educate dealers and owners regarding what is required to use this innovative riser design. Strings/Cables look fantastic with proper lubrication. Looks like a go to me.

Outstanding review with problem solving skillsets.

Folks we have no idea behind the engineering processes with Farm Deer. Just glad he's back on CBN. This pic is with his Hyper Raptor, adding new cables and find a solution for cam lean with fully served cables. There is a fix. Farm Deer will explain. That's just exceptional performance with factory arrows, optimized equipment and elite marksmanship. Wowza!

FD, they say patience is a hunters greatest weapon. You should slow down and take a couple weeks with that X1.....teaching Grasshopper patience. 👹
That was so damn funny. I need some levity watching Auburn is getting whooped by Texas A&M.

Does Barnett have a problem with using Versa nocks?
Yielding those results I'd be using them without question. It's a value add from what I'm seeing. Note: Versa nocks are a Farm Deer design. You can get them from Wyvern's.

For the new shooters out there,,,,,,,
One thing that can drive a new shooter crazy and blame arrows, bow, wife, kids, boss,,,,, is when a shooter cants a bow. To shoot consistently you must understand that if the bow is not level your POI will be off proportionally. Before you blame any thing other than yourself, buy a scope mounted bubble level. Canting at, say, 60 yards, you could "think" your level and your shot may be 2-3" off with the same arrow. Next shot BE, next shot left, next shot right......
Your pattern normally would look like a smile if you examine the hole pattern in the target if you are canting.
Bubble levels are 20 bucks on Amazon. Beats heck out of driving yourself to drinking. Measure or know the scope diameter and order a bubble level. You will be an expert shooter in no time! (at least that's the plan)

Farm Deer, something that has not been discussed much is the red Halo ring on the riser. From your engineering background what are your thoughts to it's functionality?
