Hi, I’m looking to follow find a good quality red headlamp. If it has a white light along with it that’s fine as well. I like to use red walking to my stands in the morning. I have found that it work’s excellent lighting up the bright eyes that I put out.
The one I have now is nothing fancy and is very unreliable. Last night I tried it out in my house and it was working great so I didn’t bother changing the batteries. I get out of my truck this morning and the red light wouldn’t stay on. This has happened way to many times even with new batteries. So if any could recommend one that they like that would be greatly appreciated. Ty

Purchase a headlamp designed for use in predator/varmint hunting. Many variations available. Check sporting goods stores for predator hunting lights.

I order 2 rechargeable 1200 leumen head lamps. They are bright. They have red light and a red blinking light. I paid 13.00 for both. Comes with charging cords. I use one at work. Use the other for deer hunting. And to run my traps. I got them on Amazon. If u lose them not out much.
I think I ordered the same headlamps....I like them. I'm pretty sure mine has the same light modes...red, red blinking, and white. Cheap and totally satisfied.

This one has worked great for me. It’s rechargeable and has 3 different levels of brightness with the red & white, you’ll be hard pressed to find a light with a brighter red

You really can’t beat it for a $30 light. I spend a lot of time duck, deer, catfishing in the dark and have had tons of headlamps up to about $120. I loved it so much I bought a bunch and gave them out as gifts last Christmas and they all love em and use them. It’s very light on the head and doesn’t feel like you’re wearing a brick. Only downside is with it being a lithium when it’s very cold out the battery doesn’t last long but I had the same problem with my $100 lights. I just tape a hand warmer to it if it’s a long hike or keep it in a pocket with a hand warmer

If you want ... a top-of-the-line headlamp that does red, neutral white and very bright cool white take a look at the Fenix HM70R. Has your red for "whatever." Has a Neutral white for blood tracking, and has a Cool white for search & recovery or gutting or all other needs. Comes with a 21700 battery that can be directly recharged with an included USB cable. You can of course buy extra batteries. Battery will give you light for hours and hours. I've never run mine down and I spend a lot of time working in the dark. I ran 18650 battery headlamps for well over a decade and ran them down a few times.

I have ... one like that for over a decade except it has red and green hoods that swing down over the white light for colored use. I use it at home in the living room for "whatever." Not particularly bright but it is dependable.

You might want to keep in mind that you don't want to use a high lumen output red light just to walk to your stand. Although deer don't see red as well as other colors, you want to make the least noticeable approach to your stand.
That would include using the wind, being as quiet as possible, and lay off using a super bright light. Bright lights are great for tracking, not the best idea for a stealthy approach.

This is the headlamp I use:
Stupid simple to use, one button for white light one for red. Twistable focus ring on the front. 700 lumens. Everything you need, nothing you don’t.
