tactacam 6.0/tactacam connect app problems

I have some action cams and keep thinking I will take more videos when I am out hunting.

So I figured why not by something designed for hunting. I'm having great luck with the tactacam game cameras so I thought I would buy the latest action cam from tactacam.

I bought a tactacam 6.0 their flagship camera. Camera seems to work fine. But it will not connect up to the Tactacam connect app no matter what I try and the hour or so I spent on the phone with tactacam didn't solve it. Nor did their follow up e-mail. They have an older app called tactacamwifi or something and the camera hooks up to that. So I don't think it is the camera itself. But there are a lot of features that can be set with the newer app that aren't in the older one.

Just wondering if anyone is using a Tactacam 6.0 and if you have any issues with it connecting to your phone. I have an iphone 14 pro and it is in a 16.6 operating system. I haven't upgraded to the new 17 yet. I guess I will try that next. Nothing else has worked.

No luck with tactacam tech support they basically said we don't have anything else to offer. I gave tech service a 1 on how satisfied I was with the tech support and no one has gotten back to me until I asked again today for a reply. He said there are "no further links to this issue"

The company has been great with technical support on their game cameras. They won't come clean with me if I am the only one to have this issue.

So far they have no idea and really haven't offered much of anything. I asked for a new camera to try but maybe a refund would be better. I have dji, go pro and insta 360 cameras that are easy.

Oh well was worth a try. The advertising made it sounds great for hunting. But so far it is a big disappointment.

I am giving up on this one.

They sent me a replacement camera. It does the same thing.

tactacme 6.0 is FUBAR.

Hope they give me my money back.

I would “add camera”. It would recognize the camera WiFi. I would hit join. And then the green arrows would just spin. No idea why it wouldn’t add. But without that you can’t get to the zoom feature among others.

That was a frustrating problem. Tech support had no solution.

It seems like it should just hook up… easy. Hope yours does. I had two that didn’t. I’m using an iPhone 14 pro. Maybe it is something weird with this phone? Tech support. Had me go into airplane mode unlearn all other WiFi’s, check that I had a good card etc. None of it worked. Pretty sure it is something wrong in their app. Real disappointing.

I have an android phone. Don’t know that would make any difference or not.
I got frustrated trying to transfers video to my phone. I did it one time and can’t seem to repeat the process.
so far I’ve just attributed it to user error. At least I hope that’s the problem, them things ain’t cheap.

It wouldn't surprise me if an androin phone could make all the difference. I didn't try it on an android phone.

It sounds like you were into the app. So maybe they just don't have it compatible with IOS right now or apple changed the software on them along the line. Neither would surprise me.

Tactacam has great products and great technical support. I have had good results with their game cameras and technical support for those cameras.

I just purchased the FISH-i camera and an looking forward to seeing how well it'll work on the xbow. As an IT guy I see their software is having serious connections issues still to today. Got the Bone Collector card reader to go along with image transfer. Will update my findings when the camera gets a week of use.

bought this camera two years ago and 2 phones ago. on the phone I originally had(samsung note9) I had no issues. on my new s24 ultra, I make it to the point of connecting to wifi. at that point it says it can't connect and to connect manually....which I can not seem to get done. after over an hour with tech support, I'm lead to believe it is the sd card size or a setting in my phone. replaced the sd card with what I was told and still nothing. the network setting is requested by tech support is not able. at this point I'm a bit disappointed and quite irritated with the whole situation.

Have same problem. I try using an older iPhone XR, and when it ask if I want to connect, I answer no, then I fill in the SSID: TCAM_6CCBE, and then it works. But this doesn’t work on my 14 PRO. This is Tactacam’s problem and for them to solve. I got mine yesterday, and have not payed it yet, so if they didn’t fix, I will return it to the seller..
