I’m just wondering what others are using for treestands while hunting? After buying and selling different climbers I’m back to the tried and true Summit Viper.

I'm using my 20 year old API grand slam climber. Can't seem to find the chains anymore, luckily I have several sets. Just this season, I changed out the old seat.
I think for my next stand, I will get a Summit mini viper.
Leaving the climbers at the camp this year to hunt in a Tethrd Phantom saddle. Using a Lone Wolf hand climber seat for my climbing method and platform. Working out good so far and i'm enjoying not having to tote 20+ lb climbers - I'm a lot more mobile than previous years.
I stopped using climbers. No more carrying the extra weight. Either put up chain ons, hunt from ladder stands or just plop my butt on the ground. Every once in a while I'll use my chippawa.
I hunt from ladder stands if I have to be in a tree. I had a strap on a hang-on stand that broke. That was back before safety harnesses were a "thing" and my fall was slowed by a 3" branch that I broke on the way down. I wasn't injured, but no more hangers for me!
Best I have found so far. I hunt from dark to dark so if on public land and returning to the same tree I just leave it locked there. I use a chain and a big pad lock.
I'm a Summit Goliath fan as well. I actually have two climbers that are mobile and I have put up two as permanent stands in larger trees. On the permanent sets I use strap on ladders to get up and down, I've changed the cable system over to HD straps or chains and secure them so they are rock solid. Super quiet, very comfortable and you can set them up on larger trunk trees.
I got two older API climbers, rock solid !!! I say they are 20 years old....been wanting a Summit Viper SD.....will wait for the end of the season sales
For early season I use a Hazmore net seat, I cut the strap off the front so it doesn’t dig into my legs and now it’s very comfortable, I don’t want to stink up my Summit cushion seat with sweat. I may stick with the Hazmore this year a bit longer in the season, Hazmore came out with a flip up cushion and it really works great. But when it gets cold you can’t beat the Summit seat.
Ladder stands if I'm hunting the family farm....Summit Viper SD if anywhere else. If my daughters go we are in either a double ladder stand or the box blind on cold days
If I am climbing I am in my Summit Viper. That will be 90% or higher of all my hunts and I hunt every day unless I have to see a Doc or it is storming.
The Millennium 21 ft. is the most comfortable you'll find. Its the only tree stand I have now. I had a Summit with the wrap-a-round comfort seat but when I turned 70 I sold it to a friend. He loves it.
I have a few enclosed box stands and a few metl ladder stands all winched down tight with steel cabling. But, if I wanna hunt somewhere else I use my Summit Goliath. Only problem I have with it is it's so dang hard to stay awake in it!
I use a Summit Viper and love it. I mounted a Molle 2 backpack harness and it makes carrying it a breeze. Also changed out the seat with a mesh style. No complaints so far.
Here’s a pic of my summit with the molle frame attached. This was posted in an older thread but thought I would show again. The molded plastic frame just contours to your back and makes carrying it easy
I did the same thing with my summit. I just retired from the Army in March so I have like three of these. Being in the Army for 23 years I have a lot of leftover gear that I accumulated over that time
Two API Bowhunter stands, one API Grandslam, one Summitt Viper, a couple of ladder stands, and an elevated box blind on a food plot. Don't use the climbers like I used to. I love the challenge and mobility of ground hunting.
I have the Summit Goliath and like it, but lately I have been using ladder stands mostly.
