This was one of my target bucks back in 2011. He avoided me that year but showed again in 2012.
Trail cams showed the drop tine with sticker off the base, but his frame was normal. According to the trail cams between June 24th and July 2nd he ran into something, bending his main beam downward.

He showed a couple times cruising for does but wasn't consistent. I hunted him a few times but didn't see him.

I was hoping he would give me an opportunity when the seeking phase of the rut kicked in, as they tend to run the ridge flat during that time. Sure enough, I got a cell cam picture on Halloween.

November 1st I was on stand early, figuring on sitting most of the day. I had an active morning, but the Drop Beam Buck didn't show. But the evening was a different story! An early hot doe headed my way, and the Drop Beam Buck was in tow! She circled around and bedded in the laurel and holly 15 yards from me. He was hanging just out of bow range but wouldn't quite commit even with my calling. Finally an hour later, as a 4 pointer approached from the other direction and some doe bleats from me, he couldn't take it! He bristled up and came it to the 4 point giving me a 19 yard bow shot. He piled up 40 yards later. As I sat there celebrating, the 4 pointer approached the doe and bred her 10 yards from my stand!

What a cool buck and story!

I don't have access to the pictures so i will try to describe 2 of mine. 1st one was several years old. Both antlers were actually knobs of rounded size about half dollar. That was his rack, the 2nd had one antler on left side. No pedicle on the right. His left antler was about 8" tall had an eye brow tine. coming up it was like a cowhorn spike. 3/4 of the way up he has a point going sideways out of the beam 1.5 " -1 3/4" long

I killed what I thought was a big doe once that was 2-3 years old with a dandy body on it. I would've sworn it was a doe until I went to field dress it and noticed it had the male anatomy. Looked at it's head and it looked like he shed his antlers the winter before, and for whatever reason didn't grow a set back. I think he went trans
