Yep…I just figured that out unfortunately. You think at this point the quickest fix would be to just bring it to a shop and have them restring it? If there’s no damage to the limbs or cams that is. Possibly upgrade the string as well.
Not sure could still be damage but I would def bring it to a shop asap
Thank you…Very much appreciate your advice.

Anytime. Love my vital x 430. It's their best bow currently. I like it better than the logix fanatix fatal x temprx. I have a swatx1 also and still like the 430x over all of them. It is just a tad long but everything it brings to the table makes up for that

It really is a sweet crossbow. The lumix scope is an absolute gem as well. I’m red / green colorblind and this is one of the only scopes that illuminates blue and red, rather than green and red.
I’m just sick to my stomach right now. Hoping like hell there’s no real damage. Everything looks perfectly fine, but obviously there’s atuff that would be impossible to catch just by looking. To the bow shop asap in the morning. Fingers crossed, cuz I really don’t wanna deal with KI. I just wanna hunt!! 🤞

I've had nothing but great experiences with ki

That’s really good to hear.

I just had the same thing happen tonight to my Vital-X 430. I’ve shot less than 20 shots total with it. Came back from hunting tonight and headed to the backyard to de-cock by shooting until my target. The damn bolt flew about 5 feet. Had no idea what the hell happened, until J took a look at the string. For the record I’ve been shooting a heavier bolt setup for hunting. 460 total grains, so it’s not like it’s do to shooting a light setup like a lot of guys are having issues with.
I bought mine through Walmart, but I’m sure they’re probably gonna tell me to get ahold of Killer Instinct. And literally nobody has said anything good about their customer service and / or honering their warranty. Did not need this during hunting season. Thankfully it’s early yet.

i hope things work out better for you then they have for me. that is what happened to mine and they told me it was a dry fire . like you i was using a heavy bolt.i still have not received the 2nd front end and have not got a tracking number or any more info since last week and my season starts in less then 2 weeks and still need to sight it in. i am very sad that things have turned out like this and did not want my season to go like this. now i have little faith in my crossbow and feel like im going to have to check the bolt before even thinking about shooting at a deer. please let me know how things go

I agree 100% with this. Be polite, but paint the story clearly of how disappointed you are, and maybe that all the responders on the forums you frequent told you to call, because KI is a good company.

Encourage them to do the right thing, and hopefully, they will respond quickly
[/QUO i have done that and they know how disappointed i am and still have not got the new front end or even a tracking number and my season starts in less then two weeks and still needs to be sighted in

Well y'all have gotten the all fan boy welcome you dry fired the turd you bought from KI. So if they do anything for you great. Next time don't buy one of their china made crossbows. Barnetts are at least made in Taiwan, better Q C during process of building. I know people will frown as I don't own one. My youngest son does. His broke 3 times last year, they want him to pay for most of the parts on this go around. He told them they could stick it. I gave him my MXB320 & my BD360 Shadow. He is not short of marbles, he is the 1st mate of Tow boat down out of La. & a 1st class mechanic.

Mike, I believe you may have the China/Taiwan thing backwards. I owned and sold a LogiX, but had no trouble with it. Also had a Barnett XP 400 and sold it but had no issues. I agree customer service for this guy seems bad. We are getting to the time of year when pretty much all crossbow companies will be getting cursed at. I still maintain that a very high percentage of any brand of crossbow that “blows up” in a very few shots was a misloaded nock or some other kind of dryfire. I’m not reaching some strong opinion about what has been posted in this thread.

well they told me over a week ago they were sending me a new front end and no nothing. not even a email or tracking number. my season starts the first week of October. im not looking for pitty i bought what i could afford and i just cant believe with this type of service this company stays in business. this is meant to be a warning to others not to buy their stuff. so now it looks like i will not get to enjoy my favorite season because of this company dropping ball several times.the new bow string was junk the replacement head was beat up and had a dented cam cutting into the string and they never sent the second head out as they said they where going to so i paid for nothing

If it was my crossbow and my season was coming up I would be bothering them each day until they gave me a tracking number or at least told me where the package was. I don't know if you've done that, if not, I'd recommend that you do. I know it can be a hassle but in the end, you're just wanting to hunt, so it's up to you to do what benefits you. Deal with the other bs after you get your stuff in.

You can rest assured that many of us have been in your shoes before. Lots of us found this forum after having bow issues and losing days in the field. And you can rest assured that all this could have happened with any manufacturer.
Don't believe me? Stick around over the next couple months and see. Shits gonna get crazy around here, it always does. We had a video going around here at one season of a guy roasting a Raven in a friggin hibachi FFS. 🤦‍♂️

Since I've been here I've seen several top manufacturers drop the ball, fail to ship parts, answer their phones, or fix their products in a satisfactory manner, especially during the busy season. Sadly it happens often.
One thing I've learned was to have a backup bow, or a plan. Sometimes that ain't in the budget. I think a lot of us can relate to that as well man.
After all most of us haven't been this wealthy (or sexy 😍) for our whole lives. Ya still don't believe me?
Here's a pic of when i started my first landscaping business. All i had to my name was an old F150 and a Murray push mower.

Now I've got an entire wall of Sub-$400 crossbows, a pantry full of Ramen noodles, and I can afford a whole pair of pants. Life is good man, life is good.😎

Good luck getting fixed up man, seriously.
If you can, get on the phone tommorow morning and demand some answers. Call KI, Call Wyvern Creations see if he can help. He's gone to bat for folks before.
But be careful how you speak with the reps on the phone. If you even seem slightly rude or irritated you'll have a hard time getting anyone to help you.
