I have never seen a xbow company mention brace height.Brace height on a vertical bow is grip to string, but on a crossbow it is the power stroke measurement that would be the equivalent to the brace height. On a vertical the shorter the brace height the longer power stroke which converts to more speed.

k. I know about the cam timing. what is the tiller measurement the guy at CE does not want to help me find out. he knows I am a newbie and just says I would need to take it to a professional. it is pissin me off that they want to give limited info there own product. nobody in my area that I can find will evan service the sls xbow. what is tiller ? thanks for the quik response. koti

got it. thanks. is there a tool for measureing it on a xbow? iwould say that there probably isn't a tiller adjustment on the CE SLS becuz I cant evan see where the limbs are attached down at the tiller? it looks like each limb has 2 seprate pieces if I am not correct..

Jeez, each limb on the sls has 2 pieces and are not attached,,omg . I would say that there is no tiller adjustment on it being it could possibly slip out. but I don't really know. The cs is not helping me at all.

As I understand BH it is the pre-strung tension put on the limbs by adjusting the string length. On the Excals that I have we use the S5 rubber bumpers to set the BH at approximately 1/16" from the bumpers. We have found that this BH seems to be the most accurate setting for repeatable POI on our CBs. I have used a CB for only one hunting season but the accuracy is really outstanding. As the string stretches over time & use this BH has to be adjusted by putting CCW twists into the string to shorten the string length. This is easy to check/verify by looking at the string to S5 clearance. Hope this helps.

Braceheight in Excalibur's case is measured between point "A" (where the riser meets the mainframe) and the string. Point "B" and "C" are considered the low braceheight mark and highest braceheight mark (respectively).

got it thank,, im not sure if that would be the case with CE SLS xbow? I will mark it where it sits straight from the factory though.

Twisting or removing twist from the string will lengthen or shorten the brace height it won't have any affect on tiller. Tiller adjustments are done by loosing or tightening the limb bolts (something you don't want to do) unless you are working on one of the few bows that are adjustable. Tiller is actually the distance from each individual limb to the string. In other words you measure from the limb pockets on each limb to the string it tells you if the limbs are canted or centered. Your brace height is measured from the riser to the string. Twisting or removing twist from the cables will affect cam timing.

So carbon Express gonna replace my string and cables free of charge because they already separated and have not evan had it a month. When I get it back I will measure the brace height and make sure it is good then just mark it there the way I got it from the factory so I have least a reference point. Would that be a good idea>? I do know exactly where the cams are supposed to sit. Tony at CE was pretty good at explaining it to me. Again,,ty so much. Lovin this forum:D,,koti

Knowing the brace height can help for future reference. This is just me but I take a few different measurements when I get a new bow. First I check cam timing and roll over, you can check cam roll over with the help of a friend when you cock the bow or have your friend cock the bow watch the cams to make sure they are rolling over at the same time. Also I check cam timing at rest and make a note of where they are in relation to the timing marks. Checking brace height is only for reference to check for limb problems if one is off then it might indicate a weak limb.

Got it,,ty dropzone. I am so new but this stuff is so interesting to me. I thinkif I can setup and intonate a guitar I can tune a crossbow. just some time, patience, reading and a lot of safety. thanks again,,koti
