Three of their bows according to their web site are made in USA . Built or assembled in USA are two different things from Made. In order to say Made in USA all or I think 75% of the parts have to be made here. I built many houses Built I did not mill the lumber or forge the nails. I built it or some can say assembled. The parts came to me. That's what they do in Florida build (assemble) the bows.

OK, here goes, I started this thread so let me give you some of my observations.
1. The scope- I did not expect a top notch world class scope, I did expect one that functions. It seems that the illuminated 3x32 scope that came with the Ghost 350 is not set properly from the factory. I read somewhere( I think on this board, can't find it now) about a guy who took off the front threaded ring and turned the lens until he got it to shoot well. I did the same, seemed to work. I bet that this has been the problem all along with these scopes. Taking notice Barnett? I hope that this fix will last as I really like the illuminated function on this scope. I will not be taking any shots over 30 Yrds here in NJ as you rarely will get an open shooting lane longer than that. So this scope should do just fine as long as it holds up. I don't know why this adjustment worked but it seemed to. I surmise that the lens is not staying stationary in the housing and by adjusting it you are giving the threads more bite and holding the lens in place better. I may Blue loctite in place when I feel I have it zeored in. At the very least my expectation was that the scope would function, initially it did not.

2. The string- I will never except that this wear is normal. As a long time vertical bow hunter I know a little about servings and strings.
These strings are defective if not at the very least made in a fashion that is so poor that it borders on dangerous. My strings started separating almost immediately both times. 1st after initial purchase and secondly after sending it to Barnett in Fla. for repair. At this time the cables are separating as well. The serving is separated in a fashion that the string is now starting to wear where it rides on the cams and will soon snap. To expect that this is normal is lunacy. Especially on a device that stores tremendous amounts of energy. This is not only dangerous but puts Barnett in a position of extreme liability.Taking notice Barnett? I Have an associate that owns a Barnett BCX that I believe has the same string. He has none of these problems- so it is an unacceptable notion that this is normal or ok. I should not have to buy an aftermarket string. These strings should hold up as well any other manufacturer of crossbows. I should expect at least 300 shots from 1 string and set of cables. Anything less is planned obsolescence. If I have to replace these with a set of vaportrail strings and cables to get my xbow to perform safely Barnett should purchase and install them.

I have been in touch with Jesse, sending pics to him of the strings, cables and cams. Minutes ago I just received an automated email stating that he will be out of the office from Thursday 8/1/13 until Tuesday of next week and that I should contact customer service if I need assistance. Excuse me for a moment I have to chase my tail.
Man you were so close!! You had me to the very end. Are you suggesting that Jesse should not be allowed to take a vacation or leave town on work until he deals with your problem or anyone else for that matter. Jesse went over and above when I needed his help.

Otherwise I generally agree with you, well put!

X2 there are other service reps.Jesse deserves a break. He's probably working though.Just not in the office.

Where does it say that on there site. I cant find it. Jesse himself said that only two of barnetts xbows are made over seas. The jackal and the new recruit. He posted this on the thread about the recruit.

He is working. They are heading to mississippi for expo and himself and the rest of the barnett crew are going there for work. Said he was going to try and get a laptop for the trip so he can stay connected

I was just making a little joke, I am confident that he will resolve any issues I have. Everybody deserves sometime off. I am also sure that Barnett will make good on the strings one way or another.

Sounds to me like your stock and riser are not going together right causing a lean or something with your cams causing the poor shooting and premature string and cable wear at the cams.

I 1st posted this thread on 7/28/13, And yes I am still chasing my tail. Jesse responded, sent him pics- he went out of town, came home for one day left again for another week. Did not respond to my emails anymore. Emailed the original CS agent on Friday, she asked for pictures, sent them. Emailed twice no response. Now it's 8/13/13 and no one has responded to me. I have a bow with a string that's been replaced by Barnett once and is almost ready to beak, I am afraid to shoot my bow. Where are you Barnett?

The majority of our crossbows are made here in Tarpon springs,FL. We are proud to say that we have an average of 180 full time employees here at our facility to manufacture our crossbows. The only two bows that are brought in from over seas are the Jackal and the Recruit. Once we receive those bows in they are checked individually by our QC department to ensure that they meet our quality standards before they are packaged and shipped out.

Ish,

I apologize for the delay, however it was good speaking with you earlier.

Well to be honest, I am having the same issues with my ghost 350. 40 shots and the string at the cams is shredding. There are no nicks or anything. The scope that came with the bow was completly defective and I could see the reticle moving when looking through. I took it back to Cabelas and it was replaced. No issues with the new scope now so far. But the string is still wearing badly and Im a little pissed that it will need to be replaced so soon. Whats the best method for getting a decent string that wont wear out in 1 week?

Frustrated...

You can send it back to Barnett for $20 or have Viper x make you a set. That's what I did. No wear what so ever on those strings. They aren't cheap $120, but I put 200 shots on mine with no wear what so ever. Barnett does not make their own strings. I think its a company called Headhunter, they really have to get it together or I am sure Barnett will looking elsewhere for a new supplier.

If there are no nicks on the cams, then perhaps the corners of the cams string channel are too acute or sharp.

As the string flexes and slaps around after the shot is released, the cam channel edge can easily chew through the string.

Viper strings may help, but a lubed Barnett string running in a cam with a properly smoothed/ radiused channel corner should last for ages.

Is $120 for both string and cables?

I was just on the Viper site and its 120 for both the string and cables. 50 for just the string. Im not going this route yet though. I want to give Barnett a chance to make this right as I own 2 of their crossbows. My predator string is holding up much better. My guess is its a totally different string being as its a dual colored and seems much more durable. Im awaiting a reply from anyone from Barnett on how I should proceed with getting it replaced....

Loctite the two screws holding the rail on and the set screw for the bolt retainer as well. Took nearly three years but mine worked loose this year. Was wondering why I went from hitting hairs on a gnats ass at 100 yards to all over the place. Screws fall out...the worlds an imperfect place ~ The Breakfast Club.

Yea, mine did that too just this weekend. I had to remove the scope to adjust the retainer. Also ended up finding out that the people who put my scope on, stripped the thumb nuts so had a hell of a time finding scope rings that fit that rail. It is slightly smaller than mil spec pictannys. :/
