Twist counterclockwise looking at the string from the outside.
it matters not which side of the string you twist.

With your crossbow having a new string, it's going to stretch and so you may have to adjust your brace height a few different times until the string stretches all the way.

I like the looks of the flemish the best . . .just personal taste.

Enjoy your Mag Max- it's a great crossbow and you can do your back a favor and put on a Charger EXT or Charger Lite

 

Yes the charger lite especially changing your string and brace height. It can be a beast without it.

I would put 4 or so full twists into that string Counter Clockwise, you want to set it up around 5/8 off the bumpers. Then shoot it. It will settle down to 1/4 in no time. No sense fighting the creep, just set it high and let it do the work for you

 

what should the brace height be the manual dont say from the string to the first line on the barrel its almost 3 inches

 

The spec is 2.5 to 3” from the seam where the riser meets the rail to the string.
easiest way is just keep about 1/4” gap from the bumpers to the string once it’s settled in.

 

need to get a few more goodies for it.. a crank is next . 6 hunting arrows. stilling get the string right where it will take the string off.. better string..

 

how many inches should the stringer be from the trigger box?? dont want to break a limb..

Don't over think it, you won't break a limb unless you let go. You only need to go high enough to get the string back on after you have twisted it up. This is where a crank pays for itself

my old ass cant pull it back.. i try once had almost all the way back .. and yes my back hurts.. what is the draw weight on it?? the mag 340 is 270 pounds order 12 dragon claw arrows for it.... hopefully this week i can shoot it.

Not the same riser, but I had a Micro Extreme riser and HO limbs on my draw board last summer. Draw weight at the power stroke of the 360 (9”) was in the upper 350s. I would guess the Mag 340 is well above the stated 270#. I understand about rope cocking a micro. I built a hybrid that now belongs to OEA. Draw weight about 345 at 9.5”. Really had to tell myself “You are doing this!” My right knee and low back said I was being stubborn and stupid. Shot one 15 target 3D shoot with it and was exhausted by the end.

 

This makes me feel better because I just picked up a Micro and couldn't believe how hard it was to pull back without a crank. I definitely underestimated when people said it was tough.

 

I can rope cock most anything still. But I don't. Truth be told, the crank, whichever you choose, just makes for a much more pleasant shooting experience. Especially in the backyard.

When hunting, unless it's a 400. I'm tugging ropes so I don't have to worry about loosing things in the woods.
