I think the difference may be the diameter of the furrel.
The green ones are typically for smaller diameter arrows such as used with vertical bows but can be used with crossbow arrows but they may indent your shaft when they open if they have the older blade style. Supposedly they were going to redesign the back of the wing blades to reduce that issue.
The black ones I'm not so sure because some of the black ones had a larger furrel to better match the diameter of the crossbow arrows, and some of the black ones had different cutting widths and weights.
You could try measuring them with a caliper and see if you could find any differences, or contact the Mfr directly and ask them to help you figure out what's different.
As far as banding goes, the way that the blades are deployed, I think that a single band should work in most cases. Single bands work for 362fps from a Scorpyd.
