Technically there are Gen 4a, 4b, and 4c "Extreme" cams for the 2015 model year. Extremely minor engineering changes to the cam lobe on the underside of the cams. We'll just call them Gen 4's!
which ones found there way onto production bow's 4a 4b or 4c ?

I’m not a rocket scientist but common sense might dictate the earlier 2015 Extreme bows may have started with 4a, then some may have been made with 4b cams, and the remainder of that model year were with the final 4c version. It’s also possible very few or even none were built with either the 4a or 4b cams, but I would think the 4c is the only one they were using at the end.

Most likely only Scorpyd would know how many were built with each version - IF they even kept that type of info.

Now this is how you answer a question !! even if just guessing or basing it off common sense !!!!
There must be a reason for 3 versions off the gen 4 cam .
Not !!!!

First off, I don't owe you anything. Where the hell do you get off demanding anything from me? I'm only answering this for the rest of the membership.

If you were paying attention, they were trying to make a cam for the Orion 175 Extreme work well the ACUdraw. Gen 4a was fine in the Non-ACUdraw bows, as was Gen 4b. Gen 4c was what they felt they needed for the Orion 175 Extreme with the ACUdraw.

The title says "Scorpyd Production Cams". If they were mentioned by me in my thread, then that means they were all 3 used in production. And yes I know exactly what the differences are, but no sense in confusing anyone since they all use the same exact string and cables.

Here is a pic of Gen 4a cam lobe.

Gen 4b cam lobe.

Here is a pic of a Gen 4c cam lobe. Also note the beefed up web behind the lobe profile.

If you'll notice Gen 5, 6, & 7 all have the same cam lobe profile runout as the Gen 4c. Not a coincidence! All have been ACUdraw friendly.

If you weren't so damn combative in my threads, I might be willing to share more. BUT!!!!!

I could post a pic of a Gen 4b later, if you can get your #1 Sycophant to go away.

This is why I rarely post any new threads, because sure as the world, someone will come and ruin it for the rest. They don't have any substance to add, just a whole lot of drama and BS.

I edited that second sentence above 4a, it should have been above 4c as follows.

Here is a Gen 3 cam lobe on the left compared to the Gen 4a cam lobe on the right, and why they used it on the ACUdraw Extremes. Limited to the Orion 160 Extreme until Gen 4c.
Gen 3. Gen 4a.

Where the hell do you get off demanding anything from me?
I just asked a question that you know the answer to .
No demand , the ball was in your court !!!!
We need to put our differences aside for the better of the forum .

Yes, I agree, Ventilator has been a very big help and I appreciate him sharing his knowledge. We are fortunate to have him on this forum.

I had a limb shear on my DS380 and sent the limbs with cams in to Rex, and I got back a set of Gen 7 cams (2019 Nemesis 480) and what appeared to be considerably thicker limb tips.

Using the factory Rogue string and cables, I set it to the DS380 specs.

I would assume I could set this up a bit hot if I wanted without damaging anything - correct?

Gordon or Barnsdale limbs?

Those gen 7 cams are also on my 420. Same limbs as 380 someone said in here. I read they increase carbon in frame or something for the 420. You know all this though. Lol I learn from you.

No clue, wouldn’t know how to tell. I don’t recall seeing anything even if I got any paperwork with them.

I remember reading something somewhere about thicker limb tips on the faster models up from the DS 380. My replacement tips measure about .470” thick and that was the spec for the heavier limbs I believe.

My DS380 ATA is 17 1/2”, the DS 420 is 16 1/2”.

My string length is 43 3/8” and the cables are 17 1/4”. I would think the DS 420 is a combination of those two being shorter to maintain proper cam timing.

I’m sure there’s a formula to determine the string and cable lengths to get to just a 17” ATA but I have no idea what that is.
