Your the man! Gen 3's get my vote as the best by far! Gotta figure gen7's don't have any letoff either.

 

Yup gen3's are my favorite as well !!!!
i have the 4s 5s and 6s ,and they r just not for me .
guess that is why i have 3 set's of the 3s ,in my drawer ,lol.

 

I thought I went over it, but come back and found something I missed. The Gen 1 cam was also on the 2010 RDT 80, 100, 125.

- Gen 1:
2009-10 RDT 80, 100, 125 Split limb


There may also be some anomalies out there from warranty work where newer cams were substituted after that model was no longer in production. Also at the beginning or the end of some model year production runs.

At one time, you could send in your RDT 80, 100, 125, and have it upgraded to the newer cams like a Telson. so, some of those will have Gen 2 or Gen 3 cams on them. I remember a few of them doing that on this forum.

Like you said, my DS 380 had the gen 5 cams until I had warranty work done on it and it came back with gen 6 cams on it and seemed to perform better but that could've been my imagination also. I don't own a chronograph so it's only a guess. The arrows were hitting a little higher though.

 

Very informative post and nice collection you have there! Those Gen 7's are built like a tank!

 

This is also a good place to check the timing of your cams by comparing them to the photos in this post. Especially for the Nemesis.

I have been saying the wrong thing i guess !!!
I have been calling the gen 4 a gen 1 extreme cam and gen 5 a gen 2 extreme cam and the 6 a 3 and 7 a 4 .
but by definition they are a different level in the same family , i will just have to get on board with this ,lol.

I’m not a rocket scientist but common sense might dictate the earlier 2015 Extreme bows may have started with 4a, then some may have been made with 4b cams, and the remainder of that model year were with the final 4c version. It’s also possible very few or even none were built with either the 4a or 4b cams, but I would think the 4c is the only one they were using at the end.

Most likely only Scorpyd would know how many were built with each version - IF they even kept that type of info.

If you were paying attention, they were trying to make a cam for the Orion 175 Extreme work well the ACUdraw. Gen 4a was fine in the Non-ACUdraw bows, as was Gen 4b. Gen 4c was what they felt they needed for the Orion 175 Extreme with the ACUdraw.

The title says "Scorpyd Production Cams". If they were mentioned by me in my thread, then that means they were all 3 used in production. And yes I know exactly what the differences are, but no sense in confusing anyone since they all use the same exact string and cables.

If you'll notice Gen 5, 6, & 7 all have the same cam lobe profile runout as the Gen 4c. Not a coincidence! All have been ACUdraw friendly.

Vent,.....For the benefit of those of us who really appreciate your Scorpyd expertise & knowledge, Thanks Much!! There are very few people who I’d consider a Scorpyd Expert. Certainly Jim, Rex & Dorge come to mind but you are right there with them as well!
